Affordable Housing
AffordableHousing.com is a tool can help you find your local Public Housing Authority under the section called "Find a Housing Agency" and will share if they have an open housing waitlist, such as for public housing or housing that includes project-based vouchers so that the rent will be subsidized.
Project-based vouchers are rent subsidies in specific homes making that home subsidized. If you move into a home with a project-based voucher, your rent will be subsidized. If you move out of the home to another home, you do not get to take the voucher with you as it stays with the home.
Subsidized housing means that the rent will be 30% of the household's income. Typically, no income is required.
